Yes! You should always be very careful when using any sort of product for humans around house pets.

I would caution everyone to fully research the safety/toxicity of essential oils on pets. The YL website has a balm the hat contains Tea Tree Oil. I know Tea Tree Oil can be toxic for dogs if consumed –although I don’t know how much needs to be consumed to be toxic. Obviously you’re not going to feed it to your pet, but keep in mind that dogs lick themselves so they may consume oils if they are applied to areas the animal can lick.

Soo, I’m just cautioning people to verify that there has been research done to ensure that these products truly are safe for pets. Just because a product is “all natural” does not mean it is non-toxic. Think of Pufferfish and poisonous mushrooms…both are definitely all natural, but not necessarily safe to eat.

Side note: I don’t know much about what’s safe for cats, but as a general rule, human products tend to be less safe in cats than they are in dogs so even greater caution should be used when using products on cats.
